OAKLAND -- Police need the public's help locating a man who investigators say burglarized a Trestle Glen home last weekend and stole a car.

The man kicked in the front door of the home, sounding the alarm and alerting the resident, who was home. The man stole an iPad and took off, neighbors said.

No one was injured. The resident took pictures of the suspect and the car outside the home and police arrived quickly and took a report.

Investigators believe the man took off in a 4-door, tan, 1990s Acura after he burglarized a home in the 1000 block of Trestle Glen Road about 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 2.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Oakland Police Department's major crimes and theft unit at 510-238-3951 or the tip line at 510-777-2805. People who see suspicious cars or people in their neighborhood should call the non-emergency number at 777-3333.
