CASTRO VALLEY -- A community forum about gun violence is planned for Sunday at the Castro Valley Library.
A panel representing different viewpoints will discuss what can be done to protect innocent victims while also preserving rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
Panelist will include a member of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a mother whose child was killed by gunfire and a gun owner. Alex Kobayashi of state Sen. Ellen Corbett's office will give an update on existing California gun laws and proposed legislation.
The free forum begins at 1:30 p.m. at the library, 3600 Norbridge Ave. The event, sponsored by Starr King Unitarian Universalist Church of Hayward, is free and open to the public.
