OAKLAND -- A man was shot to death Saturday night in the Laurel district of East Oakland.
Police on Sunday were trying to confirm the name of the man, but believe he is 19-years-old. Authorities also said they believe he is a Berkeley resident.
The man was found shot about 10:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Quigley Street, which is between Interstate 580 and MacArthur Boulevard.
He died at the scene from his wounds.
Police were trying to determine a motive for the killing and whether the man lived in the area. No arrests have been made, police said.
The killing was Oakland's ninth homicide of the year. Last year at this time there were 14 homicides in Oakland.
