PINOLE -- Police are searching for a man suspected of trying to rob a Bank of America branch Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The man entered the Bank of America at 1221 Tara Hills Drive at 3:52 p.m. and handed the teller a handwritten note demanding that she give him cash, Pinole Police Cmdr. Pete Janke said. The teller refused to hand over the money, and the man ran out the front door and northbound through the parking lot.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 40s or 50s, between 6 feet 3 inches tall and 6 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build, dark complexion and short hair. He was wearing a black jacket with a diamond-shaped pattern, a dark collared shirt, tan pants and black dress shoes.
