Games of the week

Freedom at Deer Valley, boys basketball, Thursday, 7 p.m. -- The Wolverines host the Falcons in a game that will decide the Bay Valley Athletic League championship. Entering the week, both teams had 7-1 records in league play. The Wolverines won the last meeting with the Falcons 76-73 on Jan. 29.

Monte Vista at San Ramon Valley, boys basketball, Friday, 7 p.m. -- Local bragging rights will be on the line when the Wolves host the Mustangs in the East Bay Athletic League finale for both teams. Monte Vista will finish in second place in the league standings, but San Ramon Valley still can finish as high as third. A higher seed for next week's North Coast Section Division I playoffs also might be at stake. Monte Vista won the first meeting 54-50 on Jan. 22.

DFAL Championships, wrestling, Saturday, all day -- Las Lomas, which won the NCS Division II Dual Meet crown last week, appears to be the favorite for the team title at the Diablo Foothill Athletic League Championship at Miramonte. The Knights, who were unbeaten in DFAL dual meets during the regular season, feature Levi Russell, Trey Brazil, and Dylan Walsh, who also figure to contend for NCS individual titles next week. Brazil and Walsh are defending league champions.

TCAL Championship, girls basketball, Saturday, 5 p.m. -- St. Mary's is the No. 1 seed for the Tri-County Athletic League tournament, which continues Thursday with the semifinals and the finals Saturday at El Cerrito. Kennedy-Richmond is the No. 2 seed, and Salesian is No. 3.
