MOUNTAIN VIEW -- An 18-year-old Mountain View High School student was arrested this morning for causing a disturbance on campus.

Police received a report at 8:17 a.m. Thursday of a male dressed in camouflage clothing and wearing a gas mask at the school.

All Mountain View police units, school resource officers, traffic units and detectives converged on the school, according to police. Los Altos police also went to the school.

Police set up a perimeter and began looking for the person. Patrol officers remembered that months ago someone was contacted who was dressed much the same, police said. They determined that person was a Mountain View High student.

School resource officers contacted the student in class and he admitted to the prank, police said.

Christopher Egerton was arrested for causing a disturbance on school grounds and was scolded for his actions.
