OAKLAND -- The names of two men slain in different parts of Oakland in an 11-hour period Saturday were released Tuesday by police. No arrests have been made in either case.
A man shot to death about 4:59 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Eighth Street in West Oakland was identified as 60-year-old Darryl Moss, who lived a few blocks away.
He was shot several times by someone who approached him on foot, Sgt. Randy Brandwood said. A motive has not been established. A parked car was also hit by gunfire but no one else was reported injured.
A man stabbed to death about 6:05 a.m. Saturday in an apartment in the 700 block of East 11th Street in the Eastlake district was identified as Blair Robertson, 22, who lived in another part of Oakland.
Officer Eric Milina said Robertson, who had been visiting at the apartment, got into a dispute with a man he knew there and ended up being stabbed. He died at the apartment. Police would not say what the dispute was over.
