PITTSBURG -- Two people were hospitalized after a crash in front of Los Medanos College that may have involved alcohol, police said.
The solo-vehicle crash was reported around noon Tuesday in the 2700 block of East Leland Road, according to Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman. The car, a black BMW, crashed into the center median before colliding with a tree, he said.
Both people in the car taken to a hospital; no one else was hurt.
The driver, a 34-year-old Oakley man, was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon. The passenger, a 32-year-old Antioch woman, was in stable condition, Raman said.
Rain was heavy at the accident scene, Raman said, and speed and the weather may have contributed to the crash. Investigators were still working to confirm if alcohol was a factor, he said.
