A Woodland man was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, burglary and battery after he intentionally drove his vehicle through the front of the 7-Eleven convenience store at the Main and East streets intersection.

Woodland Police Cpl. Dave Krause reported the bizarre incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when Dennis Cortopassi, 56, directed his vehicle through the glass storefront which faces East Street.

A Woodland firefighter was at the scene and immediately reported the incident as did other bystanders.

No one was injured during the fracas.

According to Krause, when police arrived they found out Cortopassi had gone inside 7-Eleven and began taking products off the display shelves and throwing them around the store. He also got into a shouting match with the store clerk and the firefighter.

Upon arriving, Woodland police officers found Cortopassi outside the business, where he was taken into custody.

Cortopassi was booked at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of vandalism, burglary, and battery. Bail was set at $50,000.
