St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School's former head football coach filed suit Wednesday alleging he was fired in retaliation for reporting sexual hazing between varsity and freshman players.

Christopher Cerbone's Sacramento Superior Court lawsuit alleges that the high school administration and the Sacramento Diocese violated state whistleblower laws when they fired him on Jan. 25.

The lawsuit comes two months after Cerbone reported to high school principal Mary Ellen Ryan that a number of varsity players may have sexually hazed the freshmen in a school locker room. It also comes less than a month after the school expelled five players for allegedly assaulting six students, and at the same time fired Cerbone.
