HAYWARD -- Sentencing of a man convicted of killing three teen passengers in car crash at the end of a downtown police chase is scheduled for April 2.
Leo Ray Olguin, 25, was found guilty in December of three counts of second-degree murder, robbery, evading arrest and felony driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Olguin was on probation on Dec. 24, 2009, when he drove his car through a red light and crashed into a big rig at A Street and Foothill Boulevard while fleeing sheriff's deputies, according to testimony.
His three back-seat passengers, Andrew Falcon, 17; Dominic Hall, 18; and Vanessa Hurtado, 16, died from their injuries. A fourth passenger riding in the front was seriously injured. Olguin received minor injuries.
Sentencing had been scheduled for Monday but was continued awaiting a presentencing report from the Alameda County Probation Department.
