FREMONT -- About 2,000 illegal marijuana plants were confiscated from a Fremont building over the weekend, police said.
Officers responded to the 37500 block of Glenmoor Drive on Friday for a report of a suspicious circumstance after a PG&E utility worker visited the building and found that power to the building had been bypassed, said police Spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.
The worker also smelled a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the building, police said.
A judge issued a search warrant and inside the building officers found nearly 2,000 marijuana plants which they confiscated, Bosques said.
In addition, officers arrested two people they found hiding inside the building in connection to the illegal grow operation, Bosques said.
The names of the suspects arrested were not immediately available.
