FREMONT -- The Tri-City Animal Shelter is offering rabbits for adoption.

Each rabbit is available for a $41 fee, shelter officials said. The animals will be spayed and/or neutered when they are adopted.

The shelter's hours are from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. It is closed Sundays and Mondays. Pets can be licensed Tuesdays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Operated by the city of Fremont, the shelter houses lost and adoptable animals in Fremont, Newark, Union City and San Leandro.

The shelter is at 1950 Stevenson Blvd., behind the Fremont Police Department building, near Central Park.
