SANTA CRUZ - A UC Santa Cruz student was air-lifted to Valley Medical Center in Santa Clara County on Wednesday morning after falling approximately 75 feet down a ravine.
Passersby found the male student at the bottom of the ravine near the pedestrian bridge by the student health center around 9 a.m., university spokesman Jim Burns said.
Burns said he believed they heard the student calling for help and they contacted 911. Burns said he had no word of the student's condition at this time.
