On Feb. 1, First Friday suffered a blow to its largely untarnished image: a shooting that left one person dead. Since its inception six years ago, the event, which has expanded beyond the Oakland Art Murmur, has been safe and wildly successful. But now, it is suffering from growing pains. Since the Feb. 1 incident, city and community leaders have come together to discuss ways to address the challenges of managing this arts, culture and culinary treasure while making sure it continues to attract thousands of people from all over the region.

Join City of Oakland Marketing Director Samee Roberts, Oakland City Hall reporter Matthew Artz and Bay Area News Group Senior Editor Martin G. Reynolds, who will moderate the discussion, for a live chat about the announced plans to change the format of First Friday. We want to hear from you.
