OAKLAND -- A man once featured on "America's Most Wanted" in connection with a 2011 fatal shooting in East Oakland has been arrested in Southern California, police said Friday.
Robert Drawn, 33, was arrested by U.S. marshals Wednesday coming out of a house in Indio in Riverside County.
He was arrested on a no-bail warrant charging him with murder and attempted murder in connection with a Sept. 17, 2011, shooting in the 5700 block of Foothill Boulevard that left Waleed Wheatfall, 35, of Oakland dead and a second man, now 41, wounded.
Drawn has a prior conviction for possessing cocaine for sale, which could add an enhancement to his sentence.
Wheatfall and the other man were in the parking lot of a store about 4:25 p.m. when a gunman approached them and began shooting. Officer Rob Rosin said police have not established a motive or whether Drawn knew the victims.
Rosin said witnesses identified Drawn as the suspected gunman, and a warrant for his arrest was later issued.
Police said he was featured on the television series "America's Most Wanted" in 2012, but no tips came in.
Rosin said an anonymous tip to authorities led the marshals to the Indio house. It was not known if Drawn had relatives or friends at the house. Rosin said he been hiding out there since October 2011.
