We start the evening at the Fans camp, where the men are congratulating themselves on voting out Laura, the weakest link. Sherri isn't as pleased. Laura was special to her, like her daughter, she says. But oh well.
Reynold, who had played his hidden idol for no good reason as it turned out, says he thinks it was good because the idol was divisive. Blah, blah, blah. No one is buying it and they predict he'll be out early the next morning searching for the replacement idol.
If we seem a bit impatient with the Fans it's because we've been watching the previews of this episode, which features Brandon the Honey Badger going completely insane, dumping rice and shouting at people. That's what we're waiting for. And lucky for us, we move on to Camp Psycho.
As the Favorites sit around the campfire, Brandon is talking about missing his two precious babies. He goes as far as saying he is volunteering to be voted off next.
Malcolm thinks he should have thought about those things before he joined the game. Brandon then confesses his plan was to pee in the rice and beans, and burn the shelter down, which strikes fear in the heart of his teammates. But by the next morning, he's has a change of heart and says he wants to stay and is going to play his heart out. Whatever Brandon. He's certifiable.
For today's challenge, a tribe member holds onto a rope, which holds up a net. Opposing team
Brandon and Phillip hold ropes for the Favorites; Michael and Matt hold for the Fans. Brandon and then Matt are out. After a mighty struggle, Michael drops his rope, giving the challenge to the Favorites and once again making Phillip the hero of the game.
The Fans get sent back to camp with nothing, and now everyone is looking for the hidden immunity idol. Everyone has a "need" for it, and they all have a theory about where it is. But they are all determined not to let Reynold have it, except he finds it. Again, people, you need to actually hide those things. Reynold is thrilled and he's not telling any one, except his best bud, Eddie.
Over at the Favorites camp, the barbecue is going but Brandon is sullen. He is getting upset that Phillip is taking credit for the win. Brandon finally has enough and picks a fight with Phillip, and the rest of tribe is worried about him.
Brandon and Phillip have a conversation that can best be described as two crazies pontificating. Phillip tells Brandon that, basically, he is there through the graces of King Phillip and he needs to be beholden. Brandon actually keeps calm, but he's not happy. Ooh, we can feel the trouble brewing.
Day 13 dawns and it's raining. Again. At the Fans camp, everyone is miserable. Michael tries to get some organization going, but no one really wants to do anything. They are completely waterlogged, hungry, thirsty and depressed.
Life isn't much better at the Favorite's camp. They've got better conditions, but the tension between Phillip and Brandon is so intense that Brandon is talking about himself in the third person and Phillip is considering throwing the challenge in order to get Brandon out.
Brandon asks to talk to Phillip, but it degenerates into Phillip doing his secret agent speech, which Brandon says is insulting. It's like playing with the child, Brandon says. Nobody likes their secret names. Phillip is shocked and says fine, then they will vote him out.
Brandon then flips out and says he'll give Phillip a reason to vote him off. He dumps the rice and grabs the beans while the others try to stop him. But there's no stopping him and within seconds, the food has been dumped on the ground.
The rest of the tribe is stunned and they try to salvage what food they can while saying they may just ask to go to tribal council and get rid of the crazy man. Or at least one of them. Phillip is annoying, but he's harmless. Brandon? We wouldn't want to be sleeping next to him, or be on the same continent with him.
The two tribes enter and Jeff Probst asks the Fans how they're doing. Reynold says it's been rough and even though the Favorites win everything, he feels like they are all in it together.
Brandon asks to speak to the other tribe and says he's handing them the chance to get even in the game, but to please, not let Phillip get to the end of the game. Reynold asks where Brandon is going, and Brandon just laughs. Corrine says that out of respect to the Fans, they are forfeiting to the challenge and want to go to tribal council.
Brandon blows up at Corrine, saying she doesn't have any respect for the Fans. Probst calls Brandon over, and says he's concerned that Brandon is hostile. Brandon calls Phillip a bunch of names and says he needs to shut up. The Favorites are very upset by the whole thing -- Dawn and Andrea are crying -- but the Fans are eating it up.
Phillip says he never had anything against Brandon, but Brandon starts in again on Phillip. Phillip finally stands up for himself and says he saw how Brandon reacted to his uncle at the "Survivor" reunion show, and he probably has disrespected his aunt who is taking care of those two children he was so worried about. That pushed Brandon completely over the cliff and he threatened to knock Phillip's head off if every mentioned his children again.
And that was enough for Probst, who gives immunity to the Fans and conducts an emergency tribal council on the spot, no campfire, no torches, no dramatic vote casting. Brandon shouts his vote for Phillip and everyone else votes for Brandon. Probst won't let Brandon anywhere near his former tribe. Instead, he instructs Brandon to walk behind the challenge area and hopefully into the arms of some gentlemen with a straitjacket. Brandon tells the Fans to kick the Favorites' butts.
And if you're counting, Fans have six members, Favorites are down to eight.
Next time: Phillip plots to take out Corrine, Corrine plots against Phillip and Probst plots to shake up everything.
