Alameda Kiwanis Club feted Dave Denyven for his 60 years of service to the club and to the community at its Feb. 13 luncheon. Denyven is a former president and continues to be actively involved, heading several committees, constantly volunteering for service projects, delivering Meals on Wheels on his bicycle and participating in all Kiwanis activities. He and his wife, Joyce, used this occasion to also celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Denyven has been honored in previous years by the club's tribute of a Lifetime Membership, recognition as Kiwanian of the Year and as Distinguished Kiwanian and has been saluted for his 60 years of almost perfect attendance at Kiwanis meetings. He is a World War II veteran and well-known in Alameda, having owned a local printing firm for many years.
