A drive-through Costco?

That's how Washington-based Zaycon Foods describes its parking-lot meat markets, which allow customers to buy bulk quantities of chicken or beef without leaving their car.

These temporary drive-through markets, which are set up in parking lots on an certain date and time, are coming to the Bay Area next month. Shoppers can place pre-paid online orders for ground beef, ham, bacon, fish, and other meats in cases of 15 to 40 pounds. On the scheduled day, a refrigerated Zaycon truck will arrive at the designated location and unload the meat directly into customers' cars. The meat is hormone-free, not frozen and sold at wholesale prices, typically 50 percent cheaper than the supermarket.

The drive-through meat market comes to San Jose on April 1 and Antioch on April 2. For more details on location and prices, and to register to place an online order, visit www.zayconfoods.com
