SAN LEANDRO -- Mayor Stephen Cassidy will present the annual State of the City address at the San Leandro Senior Community Center Thursday, March 28 at 6 p.m.

Hosted by the city and the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, the address will provide an update on safety, infrastructure and fiscal sustainability, and job creation in the health care, technology and green building sectors, officials said.

The new city council goals for 2013-2015 will also be covered, as will investment in San Leandro's downtown, shoreline and BART stations, and public-private partnerships, including the high-speed fiber optic loop Lit San Leandro, among other things.

"This is a dynamic and challenging time in San Leandro's history," Cassidy said in a statement. "With the assistance of our civic, neighborhood and business leaders, and many partners at all levels of government, we are transforming San Leandro into a center of innovation."

The community center is located at 13909 East 14th St., next to San Leandro Hospital.
