BRENTWOOD -- Drivers who use San Jose Avenue may want to find a different route next week.
Contractors for the project to widen Highway 4 from two to four lanes through Brentwood will be removing temporary bridge falsework over San Jose starting Monday, according to a Contra Costa Transportation Authority news release.
To complete the work and ensure public safety, the road will be closed to traffic and pedestrians 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday between St. Regis Avenue and Santa Margarita Road.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and should allow extra travel time.
