FREMONT -- The 12th annual Indo-American Community Federation Unity Dinner will be held Friday, featuring a keynote address by B.V. Jagadeesh, president of 3 Leaf Systems.
Congressman Mike Honda will be the guest of honor at the event, which will also offer a seminar presented by Global Organization of the People of Indian Origin about Gadar Heroes, individuals who gave their lives for India's freedom.
The seminar begins at 4 p.m. at the Newark Fremont Hilton, 39900 Balentine Drive in Newark, followed by a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and the dinner at 7 p.m.
"This year, we really stepped up our entire Unity Dinner program," said IACF's founder Jeevan Zutshi. "We've brought in some fresh new team members, recruited top entertainers, and have a keynote speaker, B. V. Jagadeesh, who is a dynamic and charismatic entrepreneur and philanthropist. We are also celebrating Indian-American heritage by paying a tribute to patriots and Gadar heroes."
The Indo-American Community Federation, a nonprofit group, first held its Unity Dinner after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as a way to promote networking, learning and sharing among people from all communities.
