Elisabeth Hasselbeck may end up on CNN, despite Barbara Walters telling America she's not leaving "The View," according to the New York Post.

It's been rumored for weeks that Hasselbeck is following Joy Behar out the door after nine years on the ABC talk show, due to unfavorable perceptions of watchers, who say Hasselbeck is too conservative. The Post reported CNN boss Jeff Zucker is interested in seeing her join his cable channel. A source told the Post "they're definitely interested."

Hasselbeck's contract is up next year. US Weekly reported earlier this week that Hasselbeck could be coaxed into leaving earlier than that.

Show insiders told Us Weekly that Walters was attempting to "save face" with her denial and producers are "just leaving the door open for Elisabeth to announce she is leaving on her own when she is ready. ... They don't want to make her look bad and don't want to make the show look bad for canning her."

Maybe someone should give her a late-night talk show.
