OAKLAND -- Officers and other employees of the Oakland Police Department will be singing and dancing April 6 along with other members of local law enforcement agencies to benefit the Special Olympics Northern California.

They will be performing at the annual All-American Lip Sync Show "Singing With the Stars" beginning at 6 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Theater, 4700 Lincoln Ave. in Oakland.

Tickets are $40 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Appetizers and other refreshments will be available.

There are usually more than dozen different acts with participants wearing colorful costumes representing the era of the songs performed.

Oakland police have hosted the event for years, raising thousands of dollars for Special Olympics, one of the police department's favorite charities.
