OAKLAND -- A man killed after being hit by a BART train at the 12th Street Oakland City Center station Wednesday committed suicide, authorities said.
BART officials were notified about 9:10 a.m. that a man was struck by a Richmond-bound train and was trapped under it, spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video footage of the man showed foul play was not a factor in the man's death, Trost said on Thursday.
An Alameda County Coroner's Office spokeswoman said an autopsy on the man is complete and officials are now awaiting fingerprint results to confirm his identity.
