HAYWARD -- A car overturned, trapping a driver inside, after a collision Friday afternoon between two vehicles on southbound Interstate 880 near Whipple Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred about 12:10 p.m. when the two cars collided just south of Highway 92, Officer Eric Anderson said. One of the cars involved flipped across the roadway, pinning the motorist in the driver's seat when it came to a rest.
Emergency crews extracted the driver from the vehicle about 12:30 p.m., and the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Anderson said. No other injuries were immediately reported.
All lanes of southbound I-880 reopened at 12:40 p.m., Anderson said.
