Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will host a public forum on immigration reform next week in Silicon Valley.

The panel discussion will take place just days after the unveiling of a bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill.

Talking about immigration reform and its implications for the tech community will be Rice, who served in the second Bush administration and a Stanford University professor; Haley Barbour, the former Republican governor of Mississippi; Edward Rendell, the former Democratic governor of Pennsylvania; and Henry Cisneros, a former Clinton administration housing secretary.

All four are leading a task force formed by The Bipartisan Policy Center to help find consensus on immigration reform and to push Congress to enact an overhaul. The Silicon Valley event is the first of several the newly formed group will hold around the country.

It will begin at 11 a.m. April 23 at the Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel, at 2825 Sand Hill Rd., Menlo Park.

Attendance requires advance registration. Information is at http://bipartisanpolicy.org/events. Click on the event and scroll to the bottom.
