SAN LEANDRO -- A fire that broke out late Wednesday at a home under renovation caused about $300,000 in damages, fire officials said.

No one was injured during the fire at the single-story home on the corner of Dowling Boulevard and Diehl Avenue, said Battalion Chief Chuck Palmer.

Fire crews were called at 11:10 p.m. to the home after smoke was spotted at the residence. When crews arrived they learned no one was living in the home because it was undergoing renovations.

It took about 15 minutes to get the one-alarm fire under control, Palmer said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Thursday morning, but the blaze does not appear to be suspicious in nature, Palmer said.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call 510-618-3446.
