PITTSBURG -- A minor collision between a big rig and Honda that spilled about 15 gallons of diesel fuel into one lane of Highway 4 was cleared in an hour, and the drivers of both vehicles sent on their way without injuries, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

A hazardous materials team cleaned the fuel, which leaked from the big rig after it collided with the Honda at 12:12 p.m. in the westbound direction of Highway 4, just east of the Railroad Avenue exit, CHP Officer James Evans said.

No injuries were reported, Evans said, and both drivers were cleared to leave the scene in their respective vehicles.

Diesel fuel from the big-rig spilled in the far right lane, which caused traffic to be heavier than normal in what is a normally congested area. The scene was cleared at about 1:15 p.m., Evans said.
