SAN JOSE -- The Earthquakes have added extra security measures for Sunday night's game against the Portland Timbers at Buck Shaw Stadium, the team announced on its website. The Major League Soccer match is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

The club said the action is in response to the bombings Monday at the Boston Marathon. The team did not release details of what additional measures will be employed.

"Fans should be prepared for additional security precautions upon entering the stadium," the announcement read. "Please plan to arrive earlier than usual."
