Walmart is hiring in the East Bay.
The giant retailer is hiring at least 65 employees for the new Walmart Neighborhood Market scheduled to open in Pleasanton in July, and will fill about 95 jobs at another store planned for Vallejo.
The company also plans to open two stores in Vacaville, one this summer and a second in the fall, that will create a combined 130 jobs.
Walmart is hiring both full- and part-time associates. The average wage for full-time associates in California is $12.93 per hour, and some benefits are available to all employees. Walmart also offers eligible employees a matching 401(k) contribution of up to 6 percent, discounts on general merchandise, stock options and life insurance.
For Pleasanton, a temporary hiring center has opened at 3120 Santa Rita Road, Suite F, in the same shopping center where the new Walmart Neighborhood Market will open. Applications are accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, or online at http://careers.walmart.com.
The Vallejo store under construction is where the Mervyn's on Sonoma Boulevard used to be, and is scheduled to open this summer, a spokeswoman said. A temporary hiring center is open across the street at 3837 Sonoma Blvd. Walmart has 22 neighborhood markets in California.
