RICHMOND -- A man crashed into a house on Chanslor Avenue Saturday morning after he was fatally shot multiple times while driving on the street, police said.

The name of the man was not released.

No one else was injured.

Witnesses said the man was driving west on Chanslor when at least four shots were fired and the man was hit. He swerved off the road and into the side of a house on Chanslor near 18th Street.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide, the 8th killing under investigation by Richmond police this year. BART Police are also investigating a homicide outside the train station that happened March.

A motive in the shooting was not released and police had not made any arrests Saturday morning.

The shooting happened about 8:30 a.m. and just blocks away, dignitaries and thousands of revelers were gathering for the city's annual Cinco de Mayo parade on 23rd Street.
