FREMONT -- A prowler, found unconscious in a yard last week by police, was arrested after he regained consciousness and attacked three police officers, police said.

The officers were not seriously injured.

Police were called at 7:30 p.m. on Friday to the 39200 block of Sutter Drive for a report of a someone lurking in a backyard, said police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

When police arrived they found the suspect, a 38-year-old man, unconscious on the side of the house.

While waiting for emergency crews to arrive, the man "came to life" and attacked the officers, Bosques said.

Officers then used a stun gun on the suspect to detain him, Bosques said.

The three officers suffered scrapes and bruises and the suspect was transported to a hospital where he was medically cleared before being booked into the Santa Rita Jail, police said.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of battery on peace officer, resisting arrest and being under the influence of drugs.
