OAKLAND -- A man was shot Sunday afternoon as he stood outside on the street in East Oakland.

The man was not seriously injured, police said.

Officers were called about 12:15 p.m. to the 8500 block of Holly Street for a report of a shooting there, said Officer B. Young.

When police arrived they found a man who'd been shot by an unknown suspect while standing on the street, Young said.

The man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries. He was listed in stable condition as of about 4:45 p.m., police said.

No suspect information was available and a motive for the shooting was not immediately known.
