OAKLAND -- A group of young people standing at 13th and Broadway, some with babies in carriages, ran for cover Thursday afternoon when shots were fired near City Hall, police said.
No one was injured.
Witnesses said they heard two loud pops and then saw at least a dozen young people run for cover.
The shots were fired about 3:30 p.m. and police are searching the area for two men who ran north on Broadway toward Frank Ogawa Plaza.
A motive in the shooting was not immediately known.
Police described one of the suspects as a black man between age 20 and 25 with long dreadlocks, wearing a white T-shirt with red lettering, a gray sweatshirt, and a black leather jacket.
