As expected, the Santa Clara County Board of Education reappointed Darcie Green to the seat she vacated two months ago over a controversy about her eligibility.
The board voted unanimously on Wednesday to provisionally appoint Green to represent Trustee Area 6 on the seven-member board.
The board had selected Green in October to replace Craig Mann, who had resigned to run for a seat on the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District. But unnamed critics complained that the board used the wrong boundary lines for residency when advertising for replacement candidates. Green lived within the new Area 6 -- created in redistricting in early 2012 -- while the Santa Clara County district attorney stated that she should live with Mann's old Area 6.
Green resigned in March, moved houses and reapplied for the seat. Her appointment lasts to November 2014.
A government and community affairs manager at Kaiser Permanente, Green previously served on the Alum Rock Union School Board.
