CONCORD -- Police say a driver who may have been intoxicated crashed a car into an occupied home Wednesday afternoon.

There were several people inside the home on the 2900 block of Ponderosa Drive when the car struck it around 3:40 p.m., but they were not injured, according to Concord police Cpl. Tim Elsberry. The driver, whom police did not identify, was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The home did not appear to be severely damaged, Elsberry said.

Police were investigating the possibility that the driver may have been intoxicated, Elsberry said.
