CASTRO VALLEY -- A woman was hit while walking along Lake Chabot Road Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to Eden Medical Center, just a few hundred feet from where she was hit, to be treated for unknown injuries, according to a CHP dispatcher.

It is unknown if the driver stopped or what led to the collision.

This is the second time in less than two weeks where a woman has been hit along Lake Chabot Road. On June 7, San Leandro resident Kimberly Rivers, 41, was hit by a passing vehicle and though she was rushed to Eden Medical Center, she succumbed to her injuries a week later.
