Since his television show came to an abrupt end in 2005, relatively little has been heard from comedian Dave Chappelle, with most of live appearances limited to unannounced standup gigs at clubs around the country.
So it comes as something of big news in comedy world that Chappelle is going to headline a new comedy tour under the banner of the website Live Funny or Die. The Oddball Comedy & Curiousity Festival will hit 13 cities starting Aug. 23 with a stop at Mountain View's Shoreline Amphitheatre scheduled for Sept. 20. (Chappelle is also doing a brief solo tour this summer, mostly on the East Coast.)
In addition to Chappelle, the tour -- which will feature laughs on two stages -- has lined up Flight of the Conchords (Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement), Al Magrigal, Broday Stevens, Chris D'Elia, Demetri Martin and Kristen Schaal among others.
Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through www.livenation.com. Ticket prices $20-$30 for the lawn and $39.50-$95.50 for reserved seats.
