TRACY -- Investigators on Wednesday served a search warrant at a Tracy home, uncovering the fifth large-scale residential marijuana grow they've found in the last week, police said.
Police found 381 marijuana plants, with a street value of $200,000, inside the home at 970 Cherry Street, along with equipment used to bypass the PG&E meter and rewire the residence, police said.
The latest grow house discovery comes just a week after police arrested three men linked to three different large-scale marijuana grows, uncovering pot with a street value of more than $640,000.
Three other men are still wanted in connection with residential marijuana grows in Tracy, police said. Police have arrest warrants for Ahn The Ngo, 29, and Hieu Cong Nguyen, 19, in connection with illegal marijuana cultivation in two Tracy grow houses. They remain at large and are known to have ties to San Jose.
Police said Hai Truong Nguyen, 31, is also wanted in connection with a massive grow operation, which was found June 11 at 1845 Kagehiro Drive. There, investigators seized 475 marijuana plants and found that more than $30,000 worth of power to run lights and equipment had been siphoned to run the operation. Nguyen has ties to Tracy and San Jose.
Also on Wednesday,¿ police served a search warrant at 2965 Whigham Court after developing leads uncovered at another grow house last week. Investigators found 235 marijuana plants in different stages of growth, along with high power lamps and electrical equipment.
Like all the other locations, the power lines had been tapped and the PG&E meter bypassed, police said. No one has made a claim that any of the grows are linked to a dispensary or medically-approved operation, police said.
Last week, Tracy police arrested Xi Hong Chen, 28, Jimmy Zhaoming Tang, 21, and Yueyang Liang, 22, all of San Francisco, in connection to the discovery of 800 marijuana plants at 1630 Smokey Lane.
Chen, Tang and Liang were booked into San Joaquin County Jail on charges of felony possession for sale and felony transportation of marijuana.
Also last week, an unrelated search warrant was served at 3741 Norfolk Dr. and police found 85 marijuana plants and grow equipment.
