Milpitas Police Department confirmed this week that a suspect is being sought in the shooting of a 20-year-old woman on the 900 block of Berryessa Street last week.

On June 9 at 2:17 a.m., Milpitas officers responded to the reported shooting and found the victim with a gunshot wound. The victim, who was transported to an area hospital, suffered a non-life threatening injury, police said.

Although the circumstances of this case are not being divulged, police say a suspect is wanted in connection to this shooting.

"The suspect is still being sought," Milpitas police Sgt. Frank Morales said Tuesday. "She was the victim of a shooting. This wasn't accidental at all."
