ANTIOCH -- A package found on a bus stop bench forced road closures and a shelter-in-place orders for several residents until it was deemed "safe and not a threat" by the Walnut Creek bomb squad Friday afternoon, police said.

No one was injured.

Police responded to the 4000 block of Lone Tree Way around 2:27 p.m. where they found a medium-sized packaging envelope that appeared to be full. Markings on the envelope caused officers to be concerned about what may have been inside, said Lt. Tammany Brooks of the Antioch Police Department, though police did not disclose what was on the envelope.

As a precautionary measure, Lone Tree Way was blocked off from James Donlon Boulevard to Bluerock Drive in both directions, and residents in the area were asked to stay inside for about an hour and a half.

The Walnut Creek bomb squad determined the contents of the package were not a threat to residents, but what was in the package has still not been revealed.

Roads were reopened and residents that were affected were notified of the all-clear around 4 p.m.
