ANTIOCH -- A 42-year-old man who was shot on consecutive days, the second shooting fatal, was identified Monday as Antioch resident Billy Burks, according to the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office.

Police found Burks shot in the head on his apartment porch in the 2100 block of Spanos Street on Saturday at about 9:30 a.m. He later died in the hospital.

A day earlier, on Friday at 11 a.m., Burks was shot in the leg and a bullet grazed his back at the same location, police said. He was treated at the hospital and later released, but refused to talk to police about the shooting. Authorities said the man had a criminal history but would not elaborate.

Burks' uncle, also named Billy Burks, said he tried to get witnesses to talk to police, but failed.

"Won't nobody talk," the uncle said Monday. "I don't want to see no one else's child get hurt."

Authorities have not yet identified a 54-year-old man found stabbed to death inside a home in the 500 block of Rodeo Circle around 3 a.m. Sunday.
