ANTIOCH -- An argument over alleged stolen tools led to the beating and stabbing death of a 54-year-old man by a relative of one of the man's roommates, police said Tuesday.

Police found Daniel Ingram, of Antioch, beaten and suffering multiple stab wounds inside a home on the 5000 block of Rodeo Circle on Sunday at 3 a.m.

Three of his roommates -- 35-year-old Joshua Thayn; 31-year-old Rose Basulto and 53-year-old Lynn Jaeger -- were arrested Sunday and are being held on accessory charges, according to Antioch police.

Basulto's nephew, Vincent Basulto, 18, of Antioch was arrested Monday and is being held on suspicion of homicide. Detectives believe Ingram was killed because of an argument over tools that were reportedly stolen.

The fatal beating and stabbing was the city's second homicide in two days. On Saturday morning, 42-year-old Billy Burks was found shot in the head on his apartment porch in the 2100 block of Spanos Street. He later died in the hospital. Burks was shot and wounded on Friday, but refused to cooperate with police.
