OAKLAND -- Two men were shot Thursday afternoon and early Friday in different parts of Oakland, including one who said he was wounded by a gun-toting bicyclist, police said.

Another man was pistol-whipped and shot at during an attempted robbery early Friday but was not badly injured.

At 12:39 a.m. Friday a gunman shot at two men in the 2400 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland, wounding one before fleeing. The wounded man was in stable condition at a hospital.

The motive for the shooting was not known.

At 3:18 p.m. Thursday a man sitting on a park bench in the 2100 block of San Pablo Avenue near downtown was shot in the leg by a man riding a bicycle.

The bicyclist fled before police arrived. The victim was in stable condition at a hospital. Police don't have a motive yet for the shooting.

At 12:50 a.m. Friday a man was pistol-whipped and shot at by a man trying to rob him in the 3800 block of Wattling Street in the Fruitvale district. The suspect fled in a car without taking anything from the man.

The man was not hit by the gunfire and refused medical treatment, authorities said.
