SAN LEANDRO -- The Affordable Care Act will be discussed at two meetings at the San Leandro Senior Center.
On Wednesday, a representative of the federal Department of Health and Human Services will explain the new health care options that go into effect next January and how to sign up. The community symposium, sponsored by the Eden Township Healthcare District, will also discuss Covered California, a marketplace of insurance companies where people can compare the plans that will be available.
Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan also will be at the symposium, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
On Aug. 6, the regional administrator for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid will give a presentation about the act, commonly called Obamacare, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. For details, call 510-577-3462.
