PLEASANTON -- Police are searching for a man they say robbed a Verizon Wireless store Tuesday after threatening employees with pepper spray.

The man reportedly made off with multiple pieces of inventory from the store at 6070 Johnson Drive after pulling pepper spray on the employees about 11:10 a.m., Lt. Jim Knox said. The suspect did not activate his pepper spray cannister, and no one in the store was injured.

Officers scanned the area surrounding the Home Depot store at 6000 Johnson Drive, where the suspect was last seen, but called off the search about noon, Knox said.

The suspect is black, in his 20s with a medium build and he was wearing a black hoodie, a light blue shirt, black pants and a light blue baseball cap. No vehicles are associated with the man, Knox said, as he was seen leaving the area on foot.

Anyone with information about the suspect may contact Pleasanton Police at 925-931-5100.
