OAKLAND -- An Antioch woman who helped an Oakland man rob a bank in Pinole earlier this year has been sentenced to five years in federal prison, authorities said.
Regina Lynn Dean, 37, pleaded guilty in May to being the getaway driver for Gary Casdell Fite II when he robbed the Mechanics Bank branch on Pinole Valley Boulevard on March 1, U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag said. U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton handed down the sentence Wednesday and ordered Dean to surrender in to federal custody, Haag said.
Fite and Dean took more than $3,000. Fite, 23, pleaded guilty in June and is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 4, Haag said.
