RICHMOND -- A man suffered gunshot wounds to his leg in a drive-by shooting in the city's Iron Triangle late Tuesday, police said.
Around 9:12 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of First Street for reports of shots fired and found a man in his 20s, lying on the ground wounded, police said.
Witnesses told officers that they heard gunfire just north of First Street in the first block of West Nevin Avenue, followed by a man saying he had been shot and calling for help.
Police did not have a suspect description Tuesday, only that witnesses said the shooter fled in a dark colored vehicle of unknown make or model.
The injured man was taken to an area hospital where he was being treated and is expected to survive, police added.
