LIVERMORE -- Police are asking the public's help in finding a white GMC Sierra pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run crash in Livermore this morning.

The truck ran a red light about 9:20 a.m. at Second Street and South L Street and hit a Honda Civic waiting for the signal to turn green, Officer Steve Goard said. Instead of stopping, the driver drove away quickly down Second Street.

While the victim's car was totaled, they were uninjured in the crash, Goard said.

Other motorists who witnessed the crash followed the man and were able to snap a picture of his truck, Goard said, but they did not continue to pursue him as he drove away at high speed.

"He drove away kind of fast, and we can't read the license plate with the picture," Goard said. "That's why we're trying to get the public's help."

The white GMC Sierra pickup truck likely has significant passenger-side damage, and appears to have a brake light out, Goard said. Anyone with information about the truck may contact Officer Lash at 925-371-4847.
